Description

Suffering under the rule of the Romans, the people of Jerusalem look forward to the arrival of the Messiah, who they believe will lead them to freedom.
Widower Joseph (Tobias Moretti) agrees to marry 14-year-old Mary (Stefania Rivi), a local couple's daughter, whom they wish to see protected.
Guaranteeing her chastity, Joseph is stunned when, shortly afterwards, Mary announces she is pregnant.
