Critical geography, broadly speaking, takes a Left progressive perspective to the study of space and place.
It includes a range of behavioural, radical, cultural and humanistic approaches in contrast to other more quantitative and econometric approaches which are often perceived to be at the mainstream of the geographic discipline.
It offers a viewpoint which is centred on opposition and which highlights unequitable power relations.
While much has been written about critical geographies, this has predominantly been from an Anglo-American perspective.
Bringing together leading geographers from a wide range of regional and intellectual milieus, this edited volume provides a critical overview which is truly global and which illustrates the interactions (or lack thereof) between different critical geographers, working across a range of spaces.
