Description

Bette Davis stars in this classic 1950s crime thriller directed by Irving Rapper.

Janet Frobisher (Davis) resides alone in the English countryside after separating from her criminal husband.

As she carries out an illicit affair with her secretary's fiancé (Anthony Steel), her new life looks set to abruptly end in disaster when her estranged husband shows up and threatens to reveal her many secrets, including the affair.

Not willing to let her reputation be dragged through the mud, Janet poisons her husband.

As she prepares herself to dispose of the body, her husband's former partner-in-crime (Gary Merrill) arrives looking for his friend...
