Description

Swinburne was born in 1836 and educated at Balliol, Oxford.

He associated with the pre-Raphaelites, sharing a house with Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and writing his most celebrated works.

He then fell into alcoholism, but was saved from this by Theodore Watts-Dunton.

This is a selection of his poetry.
