Description

Pygmalion tells the story that the linguist Higgins spent six months in training Eliza, a flower girl, in language and manners, to integrate her into the upper class.

Bernard Shaw ends his play with a contradiction between the flower girl and the professor to satirize the so-called elegant language and demeanor of the upper class and clearly show that the simple nature of the working people is far higher than the empty appearance of the upper class.

Mr. Ge Chuangui and Mr. Yu Kangyong commented on the book from linguistic perspective and tried to be as detailed as possible.

The reason why they chose this play was that they hoped that it would be helpful to learn spoken English in addition to helping to learn English in general.

What's more, Bernard Shaw's writing is concise and lively and the script is an ideal English reading material in terms of theme and ideological artistry.
