Collection of eleven crime comedy classics starring Sidney Toler as Chinese-American detective Charlie Chan.

In 'Charlie Chan in Rio' (1941) the sleuth is called on by the police to investigate a double murder in Rio de Janeiro.

In 'Charlie Chan in Panama' (1940) the detective infiltrates the US government to thwart a spy's plan to sabotage a Navy fleet by destroying a section of the Panama Canal.

In 'Charlie Chan in Reno' (1939) Chan and 'number one son' Jimmy (Sen Yung) help a woman framed for murder.

In 'Charlie Chan's Murder Cruise' (1940) Chan is travelling on cruise ship heading for San Francisco when it becomes apparent that a serial killer is on board.

In 'Dead Men Tell' (1941) the elderly Miss Nodbury (Ethel Griffies) is killed while preparing to go on a treasure hunt for a family fortune.

In 'City in Darkness' (1939), while in Paris during the Munich Crisis of 1938, Chan looks into the murder of a munitions manufacturer who had been selling weapons to the enemy.

In 'Charlie Chan in Honolulu' (1938) Toler and Yung make their debut as Chan and Jimmy heading for Honolulu on a freighter when a murder takes place.

In 'Castle in the Desert' (1942) Chan is called to investigate at a mansion in the Mojave Desert when one of historian Paul Manderley (Douglass Dumbrille)'s guests is killed.

In 'Charlie Chan at Treasure Island' (1939) the detective's friend, writer Paul Essex (Louis Jean Heydt), dies and according to the police has committed suicide.

Chan, however, is convinced Paul was murdered. In 'Charlie Chan at the Wax Museum' (1940) Chan is lured to a wax museum where nemesis Steve McBirney (Marc Lawrence) is hiding out and planning to get revenge on the detective.

Finally, in 'Murder Over New York' (1940), while at a police conference in New York, Chan is called upon to work on a murder case connected to the sabotage of a new bomber aircraft.
