This was a period of great change in the ranching West that included the introduction of the automobile, electricity, radio, the telephone, and other technologies that drastically transformed the lives and work of ranching people, and some of the best documentation exists in the powerful documentary photographs by this remarkable group of photographers. CHARLIE SEEMANN is the Executive Director Emeritus of the Western Folklife Center in Elko, Nevada.
He holds an M.A. in Folklife Studies from the University of California at Los Angeles.
