Description

In french and english. In Great Britain, it only took two years to design and make two artificial harbours which were code-named" MULBERRY B " (British) and " A " (American).

The selected elements were manufactured during the last six months.

The Arromanches harbour (MULBERRY B), started to be assembled on 7th june 1944.

It was used until 19th november 1944. This port was the British answer to many problems. The allies could not rely on the main ports, which would have been quickly jammed by the allied supplies.

What is more, on these beaches the tide, soft grounds and bad weather conditions could have prevented them from supplying their troops efficiently.
