metropa is a vision of Europe as it could be in a few decades, broken down into an everyday graphic that shows Europe as a city, as a metropolis: usable for everyone, expansive, universal.

The idea of a coherent pan-European railway network is obvious.

The network of existing lines is extensive and proven.

However, their operation on the basis of nationally organized state railways makes it impossible to perceive them as a unit, which reduces the effect of the existing system.
