Sir John Perrot of Carew, Pembrokeshire was Lord Deputy of Ireland, member of parliament and member of the Queen's privy council.

It is speculated that he was also the illegitimate son of Henry VIII.

He dominated the political stage in Wales and Ireland and was, in the words of Sir Glanmor Williams, 'a man of Shakespearean proportions'.
