Total Lakeland Collection DVD
Three films exporing the Lake District through the eyes of the famous Lakeland walker and writer Alfred Wainwright.
In 1938 Wainwright devised a walking tour of the English Lake District. 'Wainwright's Memorial Walk' reconstructs the walk in his memory, and along the way meets many of his friends and admirers.
In 'Wainwright's Remote Lakeland', Eric Robson, accompanied by his sheepdog, takes on the 190-mile walk devised by Alfred Wainwright through the outlying fells of Lakeland. 'Great Walks: The Howgill Fells' looks at the Howgill Fells, east of the Lune Gorge and the M6 motorway, which have been described as the forgotten quarter of Lakeland.
Alfred Wainwright compared their gentle, rolling summits to a herd of sleeping elephants.
But the Howgills also have thrilling ascents and spectacular mountain features, which Cameron McNeish and Eric Robson uncover in this two-day exploration.
