Description
First series of the BBC cooking show in which chefs Gennaro Contaldo and Antonio Carluccio travel around Italy sampling cuisine.
Carluccio and Contaldo left Italy over 40 years ago and are particularly interested in how the nation's cooking practices and habits have altered since their departure.
The two chefs take lunch with a family who still consider meals together and the passing of recipes down from mother to daughter central to family life.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, they meet a millionaire who made his fortune selling a fast food version of tortellini.
The episodes are: 'The Family', 'Poor Man's Food', 'Regional Pride' and 'Saints and Miracles'.
