Description
Governor Riccardo is in love with his secretary Renato's wife Amelia.
He visits a fortune teller who informs him that he is to be assassinated by the next person to shake his hand; this turns out to be Renato.
Riccardo encounters Amelia and confesses his love to her; she responds in kind, but they are disturbed by Renato.
When Renato discovers the situation, he vows to kill Riccardo, and joins the men plotting against him.
Cast includes Luciano Pavarotti, Leo Nucci, Aprile Millo, Florence Quivar, Harolyn Blackwell, Terry Cook, Jeffrey Wells, Charles Anthony, Gordon Hawkins, Richard Fracker, and The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra Chorus and Ballet.
