Description

Boxset of three documentaries about the First World War. 'Armistice - The End Game of WWI' is a documentary about the armistice that ended the First World War in 1918.

Historian Professor David Reynolds takes a look at how bruised egos and political scheming defeated Germany and ultimately ended the Great War giving us what we celebrate today as Armistice Day. 'Top Gun Revealed' explains how the use of aeroplanes changed how the First World War was fought.

With exclusive access to the Vintage Aviators, a fleet of replica aircraft made by director Peter Jackson, the documentary shows how pioneering aircraft pilots and mechanics like Geoffrey de Havilland contributed to the victory of World War I. 'War Horse - The Real Story' sees Brough Scott present footage of the horses that served in the First World War.

The programme looks into Scott's own family history, telling the story of his grandfather, General Jack Seely, and his horse, Warrior, and explains how the animals were used in the war effort and the dangers they faced.

Of the million British horses that went to war, only 60,000 returned home.
