Description
The story starts on a farm in the Orange Free State in South Africa.
The main character is a Helicopter Pilot, named Piet Du Toit.
He volunteers for duty in the Bush War, raging at that time in Rhodesia.(Later to become Zimbabwe) There are various adventures involving big game hunting and there is a romantic element.
It covers two generations of a family in South Africa.
The story moves to Europe and then back to South Africa, where it reaches its conclusion.
