It is not difficult to show them that changing the nature of man by edict is impossible and that trying to change the pattern of our economic system by applying to it theories tried and found wanting in the past simply does not make good sense.

Some people believe that conservatism is applicable only to economics.

In their minds conservatism has become a sort of exercise in bookkeeping, Which it isn't at all.

Its truths can be applied to every problem and situation which we have before us today and which will crop up in the future.
