Description

A 17th century man of letters, renowned for the size of his nose but also his wit, falls in love with a beautiful lady but is too afraid of her reaction to his looks to declare his feelings.

Jose Ferrer won an Oscar for his performance. The story was remade in France during 1990 starring Gerard Depardieu and also updated to the modern day in 'Roxanne' starring Steve Martin.
