John C. Calhoun was the seventh Vice President of the United States from 1825 to 1832.

He was a strong defendant of slavery and of Southern values versus Northern threats.

His beliefs and warnings heavily influenced the South's secession from the Union in 1860-1861.

This is volume two out of six of his works, this one containing a part of his speeches delivered in Congress (1811-1837).
