Description
This work takes a close look at the environmental implications of the socioeconomic restructuring of Bulgaria.
It draws together comparative and national-level studies with detailed field work in Bourgas and other regions in Bulgaria where during decades of communist rule, agricultural, industrial, and other polluters were relatively unconstrained - and were often clustered with urban centres, small villages, and tourist resorts, causing significant environmental problems.
The book is based on collaborative and coordinated work by a team of American and Bulgarian researchers, working together in a major international project.
