Description

Rouben Mamoulian directs this 1930s musical comedy starring Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald.

Parisian tailor Maurice Courtelin (Chevalier) has long-provided his services to a family of aristocrats, until Maurice becomes frustrated by their refusal to pay for their increasing debt to him.

Maurice decides to pay the family a visit to pursue his money, but when he is greeted by an embarrassed Gilbert (Charles Ruggles) who conceals Maurice's true identity, Maurice is given an opportunity to blend in to high society and win the affections of the beautiful Princesse Jeanette (MacDonald).
