After the war concerning Coele-Syria between Antiochus and Ptolemy had already begun, envoys arrived at Rome, Meleager, Sosiphanes, and Heracledes on the part of Antiochus, and Timotheus and Damon on that of Ptolemy.

At this time Antiochus was in possession of Coele-Syria and Phoenicia.
