Description

Documentary about the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, his life and his message and philosophy of peace.

Presented by Joanna Lumley in as candid a fashion as possible, the documentary contains numerous interviews with the Dalai Lama and insights into his personal life, as well as a wealth of visual and historical context about his homeland of Tibet.

Tenzin Gyatso, as his full religious name is shortened to, has lived as a refugee in India since 1959 and travelled the globe speaking to world leaders and ordinary people alike.

He is one of the most celebrated humanitarians in history, has won the Nobel Peace Prize and spoken at length about a great many things, from sexual health to economics to cognitive neuroscience.

He is perhaps the most important advocate of peace, love and understanding the modern world has yet seen, with a global following and reputation, and his message is explored here in the context of his journey and the trappings of modern life.
