Description
Four-part BBC adaptation of Hanif Kureishi's semi-autobiographical novel about a young mixed-race 17-year-old growing up in South London in the 1970s.
Young Karim Amir (Naveen Andrews)'s teenage existence is radically altered when his Pakistani father gives up his civil service job and suburban lifestyle to become a spiritual guru.
Karim soon discovers sex, drugs, acting and punk music as he enters a phase of experimentation to discover his true identity.
