Description

Japanese drama written and directed by Yasujirô Ozu.

Married couple Taeko (Michiyo Kogure) and Mokichi (Shin Saburi) live a rather demure existence in Tokyo.

One weekend Taeko feigns an illness to her husband in order to enjoy a spa weekend with some friends, including her niece Setsuko (Keiko Tsushima).

Following the weekend Setsuko becomes determined to avoid an arranged marriage as she witnesses how miserable it has made those around her.
