Borobudur in Central Java is a unique building. In the shape of a pyramid, with four square terraces leading to three circular ones, it is covered with three miles of stone carvings.
Remarkably, the construction lay deserted and obscured by jungle for over 1000 years, only to be to be re-discovered in 1814 by the maverick Englishman Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles.
Following the complete renovation of its 1.6 million blocks of volcanic stone, this programme answers the many questions surrounding these enigmatic ruins and reveals the untold tale of 'The Lost Temple of Java'.
