The book is devoted to two natural problems, the existence and unicity of minimal projections in Banach space.
Connections are established between the latter and unicity in mathematical programming problems and also with the problem of the characterization of Hilbert spaces.
The book also contains a Kolmogorov type criterion for minimal projections and detailed descriptions of the Fourier operators.
