Description
Bruce Vigar directs this documentary which chronicles the planning and execution of Operation Overlord, the Allied military operation which began the liberation of France from German forces in World War II.
The assault commenced with Operation Neptune on 6th June 1944 when the largest seaborne invasion in history took place as Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy under heavy enemy fire.
Archival footage is featured alongside interviews with military experts, historians and people who fought there.
