Anita Ekberg stars in this Italian horror thriller directed by Giulio Berruti.

While recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumour, Sister Gertrude (Ekberg) grows increasingly fearful about her cancer returning.

She works at a Catholic hospital caring for the elderly and begins abusing opiates and mistreating her patients.

As her mental state deteriorates and several patients are brutally murdered, Sister Gertrude is placed in an isolation cell and sedated.

Is she the murderer, or is someone taking advantage of her intoxicated and fragile state?

The cast also includes Paula Morra, Joe Dallesandro and Lou Castel.
