Description

Jawiga Jankowska-Cieslak won a Cannes Best Actress Award for her performance as a journalist who has a love affair with another female journalist.

Following the 1956 Hungarian uprising, her husband is nearly murdered while the other woman's husband is killed.

The film probes professional and sexual integrity in its plea for tolerance.
