THATS KLEZMER FOR CLARINETS PIANO

Part of the Unterricht und Spiel (Play and Learn) series. Klezmer Music stands for a distinctive performance style and a repertoire that has become widely known in recent decades through the work of various players, especially solo clarinettists. Proceeding from Jewish folk traditions, this style is noted for its liveliness and highly emotional delivery. This volume contains seven traditional pieces and five new compositions in the klezmer style, all moderately difficult. The arrangements can also be played by ad hoc ensembles of instruments, from solo instrument (clarinet or violin) with piano accompaniment to larger groups consisting of two melody parts, piano, cello, bass, and guitar. The enclosed play-along CD enables individual players to play with accompaniment.

Das Heft entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit der Klarinettistin Irith Gabriely, bekannt durch ihre Klezmer-Interpretationen. Neben Traditionals wie Hevenu Shalom Alechem oder Mazel Tov sind auch stilgerechte Originalkompositionen der Herausgeber mit aufgenommen. Eine eingelegte C-Stimme ermöglicht die Aufführung mit Violine oder anderen C-Instrumenten. Mit den zusätzlich separat erhältlichen Stimmen ist variabel besetztes Ensemblespiel möglich.
