Description

This book is for the current Cranial Osteopathic practitioner.

It looks into Cranial Osteopathy from a more profound 'inner' approach to help the practitioner to understand Cranial Osteopathy from a deeper and broader perspective.

This will enhance their skills, knowledge and understanding to a much-advanced level. The book starts by taking the reader on an 'inner' journey of understanding more about themselves as the practitioner.

This will give a greater understanding about the way of communicating to patients as well as the state of their patients.

The 'osteopathic toolbox'- the skill set which the practitioner must bring to each patient is also discussed.

Finally the chapter reviews the need to be 'inner centred' when diagnosing and treating and with an exercise on centring. The following chapter looks at aspects of diagnosis - of tissue and fluid states, giving the reader several 'inner' considerations which they should apply when assessing a patient. The book then continues to look at the whole body and using an 'inner' approach to assess and treat.

Each chapter gives an overview of the anatomy relevant to the chapter and discusses the osteopathic relevance and new ways of working.

Case studies/clinical experiences are described and 'hands on' exercises are given for the reader to practise.

These are exercises which the reader should do 'at the treatment table' and which will therefore prepare them to use the approaches described in the chapter with their patients. The chapters are written in a sequence of difficulty, each increasing the readers, knowledge, understanding and palpatory skills in preparation for the knowledge/ skill set as they progress through the book. There are links to a set of audio files (online), each file relating to the practical exercises of each chapter.

The audio will lead the listener into the anatomy and give a 'guided tour' of the anatomy and explain the exercise for them to do, relating to that aspect of the anatomy.

In this way the reader can hear the author whilst they have their hands feeling what the author is describing.
