Description
Robin Bexter directs this documentary which chronicles the making and enduring legacy of 'The Exorcist' (1973).
Bextor examines the real life case of a boy from Maryland in 1949 which inspired William Peter Blatty, who wrote the novel on which the film is based, and considers the directorial decisions made by William Friedkin.
Archival footage of reactions from the audience and critics after the film's release is contrasted with discussion from film historians which includes an exploration of the cultural and cinematic landscape of 1970s America and the place 'The Exorcist' holds within it.
